What kind of bird IS Rev?!

 Just looking over the show, and I noticed Rev has a few.... un-road runner ish.... characteristics....

 

First, road runners don't dive headfirst into danger, they let their enemies run into walls.

Second, road runners don't usually travel in packs, they're very SOLITARY birds. So Rev in the team wouldn't make sense.

Third, road runners are AFRAID of fire. Afraid of it. Rev CONTROLS it.

 

However, phoenix's have all the aforementioned traits. So my question is, Is Revolution Runner really a phoenix?
