A good example to look at is the scene in "The Cloak of  Black Velvet". When the Loonatics were taking out BV's missles, Duck was trying to disarm one by hand. Ace yanked him off and Duck was enranged at being interrupted until the thing blew up about 5 seconds later. Imagine how that scene would have played out if he was on his own.
The thing is, no matter what his ability, Duck is accident prone, and a solo career might have disasterous results for him. He might have some marginal success, but soon come to realize that his being on a team was better suited for him.

Well put Martiangirl. The "Cloak of Black Velvet" example of Duck's need for someone to watch his back is a good one. Duck would definitely wind up in serious trouble without someone else to help him out. In the Acmegeddon eps, Ace and the others also had to go rescue Duck when he landed himself right into Optimatus's hands! (Tho' he did manage to free himself from his prison cell.) And Ace sent Rev to accompany Duck when he wanted to go off and track down the escaped criminals on his own. (I'm wondering whether that decision on Ace's part was also for Duck's safety as well.)

Y'know, now i starting to wonder which of the Loonatics would work well solo or even better on their own?

Aside from Duck's need for assistance whenever he lands himself in a tight pickle, Slam i think also needs directive guidance from others more competent. He's all muscle and very little brains unfortunately.

Rev i think works best contributing his skills in addition to a team's, but if he ever had to perform a task on his own, he'd probably complete that efficiently as well. He's a team-player.

Lexi i think feels more comfortable working with someone like Ace, although if she was left alone to fend for herself against danger, she'd manage and take care of herself very well. But i think being in a team gives her more motivation and drive.

Ace, as leader of a team, should be skilled and competent enough to work on his own; he'd need to be before he could effectively lead others. But now that he is leading others, i'm sure he feels the obligation of responsibility to never abandon his team mates or let them down.

Tech, this might just be my fangirl's instinct talking, but i think he actually now would benefit more if he went solo from the team, though the team would suffer a serious loss without his technical skills. Initially, i think it was probably good for Tech to get out of his usual isolated study pattern and work with others more pro-actively out in the field, but now i think he's gained all the benefits and learned all the lessons that he can derive from working with others. It can be observed that his team mates often turn to him for help and his judgement of a situation, but how often do you see Tech turning to the others for help? Not often. He's self-sufficent, hence he'd probably have more to gain personally without others to look after and provide back-up for.
