I'm not sure how'd he react, and truthfully, I'd rather not find out. He was the one who told me about Loonatics in the first place, assuming I'd share his sentiment that it was an awful idea. As for my sister. . .well she already has more than enough ammo for her artillery.
Would your family react that badly if they knew you were a watcher of the show? Don't seem fair if they didn't respect that your tastes and interests may differ from theirs. To be honest, my family don't really know what sorts of shows i like to watch in particualr either, but they don't really mind. They just know that i like watching cartoons, all animated programs are the same to them. They may not share the interests i have (in fact i'm very different from the rest of my family!), but as long as i'm not too engrossed in my hobbies, they don't say much (although they do sometimes poke some fun at me!). So not too much of a problem for me. I just hope you're not having to completely hide your interests from your family!
Perhaps you'll have to load the game onto a computer to play it me thinks. I'm hoping there'll be other special extras on that DVD too. Like some nifty artwork would be nice!

It's a number of factors really. My dad and sister would tease me about it a bit most likely. I'm rather notorious for being obsessive with my hobbies to the point of it being almost neurotic. I'm just a very private person. This board is my social life. So even a bit of friendly teasing in person (I don't mind it on message boards where I'm anonymous) feels absolutely mortifying. My mom on the other hand would engrave it into her memory banks and bring it up at the most inappropriate moment or whenever it appeared I wasn't doing enough work: "YOU'RE TOO BUSY WITH__________!" and just harp on the subject for decades. She still does this with me and anime, even though I told her I haven't watched or read it since I was 15, and she still remembers and brings up the fact of when I was five and loved Ninja Turtles. Twenty years from now she'll remember me being into Loonatics and bring it up if I forget to pay the rent or something.

Martiangirl, your family really do seem to be a parallel to mine in personalities! Even 'you' seem to be a parallel of me! I too am notorious in my family for harbouring obsessive interests! I've had several over the years, at each given time, i've always absolutely loved a particualr cartoon show. I think it's some kind of 'latching' personality that keeps people like us so obssessed with certain interests, that or a symptom of an Autistic spectrum deviance! But yeah, my mum is quite like yours in that if anything i do is not up to standard, she'll blame my interests, even if the examples she brings up are from when i was 10! And my dad and older sister pick on me from time to time too (well more my dad, my sister ain't too bad). I used to really despise my folks picking on my interests, but now i've learnt to stomach it better. If they tease my interests now, i feel no apprehension or fear (i used to), coz i've learnt to accept the way i am and the things i like now, and i am just proud of what i am. Nothing can change me to be more like the rest of my 'normal' family, so i might as well stand firm on what i know i am and feel no shame about it. It's a type of confidence you have to learn over some time i think, but when you have it under the belt, things in your family life won't seem half as tough as they may now. Here's hoping you learn that feeling of security within yourself some day too!
Gee...it's like we're all parralell to each other...
My family don't like it when I spend so-and-so much time on something. My mum'll use it as an excuse to blame me for something-or-the-other. When I get a lower grade than usual on homework, she'll blame my writing. My sister somehow manages to tease me about liking LU (even though she's five years younger than me!). My daddy doesn't like it when I use the computer. He blames it for making me have contacts.
Meh. My family generally thinks I'm insane for being so obsessive (and for listening to heavy metal... but that's a story reserved for later. Or not.) of certain things. But, hey, everyone thinks that. [shrugs]

I'm going to walk in that stores buy all the Loonatics DVD's I can get, and yell "I'M A MOTHER****ING LOONATICS UNLEASHED FAN FOR LIFE!"
That...is actually what I think I'll do.
(March 13th, 2007)
Jessica: GIMME! -steals all the LU DVDs- MUHAHAHAHAH! YOU'LL NEVER CATCH THE LU FANS!!! Store worker: -activates radio thing- We got another nut case, DVD section.
Martiangirl wrote: Well, maybe I'll just order it online. Looks like there won't be any copies in the stores anyways since people are going to hoard them.
I'll have to order from online too, since i live in the UK. Good thing i have a DVD player that plays region 1 DVDs!
I've been to the UK once, and they had a bunch of good looking movies I never even heard of here in the states. Unfortunately, it's near impossible (for me anyway) to find a compatible DVD player for most of them.
And they have a ringtone that plays "Journey of the Sorcerer" by the Eagles. I want that!

Yeah, DVDs for Europe are in region 2 encoding. You need a multi-regional DVD player to play DVDs from other countries (and a TV that supports PAL as well as NTSC formats). Why must it all be so complicated!
And you've vistied the UK before? Where exactly have you been?
ZOMG! -runs out the door and all the way to music school- MOMMY!
Mommy: O_o What the @#$%, Jessica? You ran all the way to Merit? Jessica: -looks around- Whoa. I did. But anyways, I WANNA PREORDER THE LOONATICS UNLEASHED DVD! Pleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease- Mommy: Get back home! >_< You're not supposed to be here, anyways! Jessica: -pleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease-
I don't think I'll ever be able to get this DVD. My dad goes all, "Oh, this show is the worst. Why copy off the originals? Oh, why do you watch this *censored*." So I HIGHLY doubt that my Dad will be getting it for me on my B-Day. My mom won't get it because I asked her and she said Maybe (that always means no, right?) And if you think I can buy it with my own money, anyone know where I can buy a newly released DVD for $5?
So I doubt I'll get it. :( I know it's not such a big deal 'cause there's Daily Motion and I taped a lot of eps, but I really want to know about the bonus features. So if somebody buys it can you tell me what the bonus features are and what you do on them?
Has your dad even bothered to watch LU? (he should probably skip the first few episodes - it's much better later on, the first episodes were a little shaky) Or just pester you mom like mad. XD 's how I got my iPod.
(flashback)
Jessica: ...I'm bored. Alison: Me too. both: This wouldn't happen if you bought an iPod. mommy: ...ugh.
Is it just me or are Ace and Lexi looking at each other?
No they ARE looking at each other
This time, I`m not the one to point something like this out. Indeed, they do seem to be looking at each other, but then why would they be? It could just be a coincidence of the angle of their eyes. Normally, I wouldn`t dispute a hint pointing to my fav (and only) LU couple, but this time I gotta question it a little.
Maybe Lexi see him, but he can't see her... that because she is behind him and he need to turn his head to see her...

I want to order it... but I don't have credit card... maybe someone of my family can do me this favor...
The only thing my mother say to me is: How can a 27 years old girl love a cartoon for little kids!!! (Well she know I only see educative programs, cartoons, CSI, mediun and Ghost Whisper on TV, so that no surprise)
I will buy it... (I have to wait two week to do that... I need to be paid)
the_oddity wrote: Has your dad even bothered to watch LU?
Nope. Unless he's been watching the taped episodes I have in our VHS case. And has placed them back so perfectly that when I wake up at 2:00 a.m. to watch LU, I can't tell that they've moved.
4 MORE DAYS 'TILL THE RELEASE!!!!!!!!!! *hyperventillates, passes out*
At the hospital,
Nurse: Doctor, it seems that we have another case of LUDRS.
Doctor: What?
Nurse: Loonatic Unleashed DVD Release Syndrome.
Doctor: WHAT?!? LU IS COMING OUT ON DVD?!?!?!?!? *runs out of hospital to camp out in front of the DVD store 4 days early*
well its harder for me because I am a guy and my brother still teases me for wanting to study game desgin and devlopment when I finish high school, and if he sees me buying a dvd for a cartoon show ment for 6-11 year old kids I will never hear the end of it i watch all of the episodes in secret at dailymotion so they dont know I watch it.For all you girls its a lot easier because you can act tough and savage and girly and sweet but for men you must always keep your masculinty and keep your self emotionly strong, its actually a rule for a lot of men to NEVER cry and while I do think that rule is true, who says I cant watch cartoons anymore.
-celebrates- xD Chapters better not fail me. >>; I preordered it there about two weeks ago. They better get my DVD there the minute it comes out. Tuesday will be a good day. =)
My mom lets me buy stuff online (as long as I have her permission) but I'm not sure about pre-ordering. Anyway the waits basically over!! Now if only the same could be said about Pokemon Diamond & Pearl!! (Yeah it's driving me nuts!!)
