I liked him too. He wasn't the typical "spoiled bro is jealous for no reason". He was legitimately getting overshadowed, but he didn't really blame his sib for it. Made him more believable and enjoyable as a character imo. Loved how he was the most laid back of the Roadrunner family.

He sounds hot, from the way you all described him! The name "rip" makes sence, think about it, "Rip" as in, "rip" your lil bro limb from limb!!!!!! MUAAHAHAHAAH!!
I agree with all of the above. Rip's inclusion in the story really made it click. Judging by how he acted with the alien device on his head that made him act on his deepest desires, Rip was keeping a lot of stuff cooped up inside. Let's cross our fingers, hoping that the show does try something like this more often.

Sounds like Rip is a very interesting and likable character indeed! So i guess the story for this ep was generally well recived by most? That's good to hear after some people's disappointment with "The Heir Up There" last week. Perhaps things are looking up for this season's writing now! Btw, what did Rip look like?
Blue coloring (old roadrunner colors), his crest feathers faced forward rather than back like Rev's. He was dressed in a leather jacket and jeans and had a tired/bored look to his face.

Rip's voice sounded SO familiar, and I STILL can't place it. Argh.

WOW!!! thanx for pointing that out! rip runner and rev runner!wait...*pauses* what does rip look like?ummm... well,i'm trying to remember but i can't lol!*sniff* *sniff sniff*ohhh,i thought i was thinking what rip runner looked like...
I lurve Rip! He is my second faveorite next to Rev!
I think family buisness was the first (and most likely only) episode wear the antagonist wasen't pure evil, just misguded (Apocolypso is the only other episode I can think of wear there is no real villain and that was more misjudgement on the loonatic's part)
Instead of adding on to the many detailed descriptions, I thought I should post a picture of him! :D (P.S. This is not an actual picture, it's just really good fanart NOT done by me)
Rip, for some reason, has rocketted his way to the top of my favorite LU character list, most of it probably has something to do with the fact that I suddenly was struck by muse and decided to write a fanfic about him, causing me to look into his character much more in depth. Another reason is because Rip is a believable character, and his personality makes him boderline good-bad, giving him flaws and attributes. He is a well rounded character.
Don't ask me how I interpreted that from a less-than-30-minute-long episode... I honestly just don't know.
Well actuelly there were alot of things you could interpret about him from that episode, because it did show alot of his personal issues, or give you clues.
Like how he was ignored by his family, always being topped by Rev, etc. You can kind of connect the dots and assume other things about him from the little bit of screen time he got.
